# Privacy

convertfile converts on your Mac, iPhone and iPad. Files are never uploaded, there are no accounts, and the analytics switch is yours.

convertfile converts on your device. The apps never upload a file.

- **Your files stay on your device.** Apple’s engines and convertfile’s own convert them on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. convertfile has no server that could receive them.
- **No accounts.** There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
- **History stays where it was made.** Recent is kept on the device that did the conversion and is never synced.
- **Analytics, behind a switch.** With Privacy on in Settings, convertfile counts which recipes run and how long they take. Never a file, a file name or what is in it.
- **Purchases** are handled by Apple. We see no card and no Apple ID.
- **This website** has no accounts and no trackers, and you upload nothing to it.
